This quote by Winston Churchill is essential to a full and happy life. I was enormously motivated early in my social work career by a woman who worked with me as my secretary and was in a motorized wheelchair with very limited use of her better hand. She had to perform what to most of us would be a very simple task, but took her about ten minutes. While you can find the full story in more detail in my book, her strong will and perseverance enable her to raise her own children and live independently, as well as do well in the workplace. I have always admired her as she enjoyed her life deeply, with enormous challenges.
